Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance SHINE

WAYNE/PIKE - The Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance SHINE Program is a 36-week comprehensive afterschool program and include 1st -3rd and 4th -5th grade centers located at Lakeside Elementary in the Wayne Highlands School District, the Evergreen Elementary in the Western Wayne School District and South Primary Elementary in the Wallenpaupack School District along with a kindergarten home-visiting program.

The primary focus of the program is students who need a jump-start in reading and math. Students will be provided project based activities on in-demand careers with an emphasis on STEM and complete 6 career projects, providing a real-life educational experience that engage and motivate students. Centers will integrate reading, math and science into multidisciplinary projects that targets high priority occupations and the skills needed for the 21st Century workforce. The ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of each location are scheduled as following:

Lakeside Elementary: November 6 at 4:30PM - 129 Lakeside Dr. - Honesdale, PA, 18431

Evergreen Elementary: November 7 at 4:30PM - 739 Easton Tpke - Lake Ariel, PA, 18436

South Primary: November 7 at 4:30PM - 989 Main St Newfoundland, PA, 18445
