Wayne County Community Foundation proposes community recovery challenge with up to $10,000 match

WAYNE COUNTY - The Wayne County Community Foundation has established the Wayne Tomorrow! Fund to focus on building up a reserve to address the needs of Wayne County in the future.

The Wayne Tomorrow! Fund will be provide matching dollars for community grants and projects, seed money for innovative ideas and emergency funding when a crisis strikes. The Wayne Tomorrow! Initiative engages the community in a powerful, collaborative network that strives to cultivate a vibrant future by working together toward a shared vision of prosperity and opportunity for everyone.

Recently, many people in the community received stimulus dollars from the federal government in response to COVID-19. The Wayne County Community Foundation is proposing a Recovery Challenge for Wayne County community members to donate a portion, or even all, of your stimulus money to support the future of Wayne County. All donations are tax-deductible and will support future projects in Wayne County.

But The Wayne County Community Foundation is not just proposing this challenge, they’re going to match all donations up to $10,000 to support this fund too. To make your donation visit waynefoundation.org or send a check to the Wayne County Community Foundation with “Wayne Tomorrow Fund” in the memo to 214 9th Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.

Wayne County has a bright future ahead, but there will surely be bumps in the road and a need for support along the way. The Wayne County Community Foundation wants to have the funds available to help pivot and provide for the community for many years to come. Just think, if 100 people in Wayne County donated $100, this fund will grow to be $20,000 with the match dollars from the Wayne County Community Foundation.
