Visitors Bureau Encourage event planners to apply for the Hotel Tax funding in Wayne County
HONESDALE – The Wayne County Tourism Promotion Committee and the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) prepare for a new round of promotional funding from the Hotel Room Tax in 2021, and the deadline for applications is Friday February 22.
Since the PA General Assembly revised the legislation a few years ago governing the way Hotel Tax dollars are administrated by the counties, PMVB has been directly supplying support in conjunction with the Committee and the County Commissioners to the non-profit organizations and event-planning partners to bring overnight visitors to Wayne County.
Organizations are encouraged to reach out to PMVB and other community organizations to combine efforts and maximize marketing potentials. Visitors and regional residents are expected to be looking more “local” for recreation and “staycation” experiences and submissions should consider this in their marketing proposals.
Due to COVID restrictions, organizations are encouraged to submit their application electronically, or supply just one copy by mail or delivered to the Courthouse.
Applications can be obtained by e-mailing CFO, Vicky Botjer, firstname.lastname@example.org, or on the PMVB website or at www,WayneCountypa.gov under Open Bids. Awards will be announced by March 15 2021.
