Pike County Training Center 2019 Report

PIKE COUNTY – The Pike County Training Center provides hands-on, complete, realistic and safe training necessary for local fire service and emergency responders so that they may provide citizens with the finest available emergency services.

“This is so important to public safety within a rural community like ours,” said Pike County Commissioner Chairperson Matthew Osterberg.

The Training Center, located at 135 Pike County Boulevard, in Blooming Grove Township, was constructed in 2011. It features four classrooms, a four-story Class A Burn Building with basement, a Confined Space Unit, a Flashover Simulator Unit, Class B Props, and room for more.

The Training Center also houses the county’s 911 Center and the Emergency Management Operations Center.

The Training Center’s classrooms are frequently used by many local agencies and community groups as a meeting facility.

In 2019, the Pike County Training Center hosted a total of 301 events, comprising 1,479 hours of Training Center usage for 5,248 people.

These numbers increase every year, according to Pike County’s Emergency Management Director Tim Knapp.
