UPPER DELAWARE – Join the Delaware Highlands Conservancy and PA-DCNR Bureau of Forestry for a guided fall hike on Stairway Ridge and the adjacent Stairway Wild Area in Westfall Township, Pike County, PA. The hike will take place on Saturday, October 6 from 9am-12pm.

Remember to wear hiking shoes, dress for the weather, and to bring water for this moderately strenuous trail. Enjoy the fall foliage and beautiful views of the Delaware River Valley while learning about the forest and the conservation easement that protects the property forever.

The Fall Hike is free and open to the public, but space is limited and prior registration is required. Visit www.DelawareHighlands.org to register online or call 570-226-3164. Registered attendees will receive directions to the meeting location. This walk is not wheelchair or stroller friendly. People-friendly leashed pets are allowed; owner must clean up after their pets.

The Stairway Ridge property is protected with a conservation easement funded by the Pike County Scenic Rural Character Preservation Program and PA-DCNR. This walk is part of the “Walk in Penn’s Woods” event, a statewide day to connect to Pennsylvania’s forests.

The Delaware Highlands Conservancy works in partnership with landowners and communities to protect the natural heritage and quality of life of the Upper Delaware River region. For more information, call 570-226-3164/845-583-1010 or visit www.DelawareHighlands.org.
